Another month has gone by so it’s time for the checkpoint. As usual, things have been busy. This month I wrote articles in the general category of AI, the technical category and the environment.
Let’s start with the General category of AI.
General
Working from newest to oldest we took a look at the duality of art in a piece called AI Creativity – The Duality of Art. This was fun to write and explores the creator vs observer perspective of at.
If you’ve been here for awhile, you know I’m not real happy with the media. How the media reports (or distorts) AI and how I think their blowing a great opportunity to regain the respect their industry once had. To point this out, check out my article titled Why Is The Media Stock Market Obsessed but Blind to the Environment?
Lastly under the general category of AI I addressed using AI as a truth score. Given the current limitations AI has around nuance and context, my direction on this topic shifted. Check out my article title The Death Of The Truth Score: Why the Future of AI Fact Checking is Transparency, Not Grades.
Technical
In the technical category of AI I take a high level look at AI in healthcare with an article titled AI In Healthcare. This is an explosive segment of AI and one I’ll be addressing many times in future articles.
The next area was something a little off the beaten path in my article called Does AI Dream? This was a very interesting topic for me and I hope you enjoy it as well. From definitions to world building, it’s a fascinating process.
The last article under the technical category is called Agentic AI – From Answering to Doing. This is where we get past AI as the great search engine into AI as doing, taking action. The possibilities here are really endless.
Environment
The environmental category still contains a lot of information on AI, the environment and how we, as people, can help. This past month I took a look at e-waste. I wanted to know where we’re at and where we’re going. Check out my article titled Can We Recycle Our Way Out of E-Waste? It’s not as straight forward as you may think.
Summary
As another month gets wrapped up here, I still find myself very busy exploring the world of AI. My excitement (and frustration) continues to grow. From why our media sells fear and what is and is not reported, to the technology itself. The potential and possibilities it possess vs us, people, and how we’re using it.
I’ve mentioned before, should AI fail, it won’t be the technology but rather the decision makers and people that will fail AI. Clear, investigative reporting, informing the public of the good and the bad. Industry changing the manufacturing process and countries agreeing on ethical implementations.
This is a huge pot of variables to juggle and having an advanced AI in the room as a SME (subject matter expert) would be ideal. However, as mentioned, it really doesn’t matter how advanced the AI becomes. It comes down to people and what and how people will direct this technology moving forward.
