Checkpoint – May 2026

It’s that time once again for a checkpoint. We’ve covered a lot of ground since our last checkpoint. Let’s dive in and I’ll give you a summary of what we’ve covered.

Getting Past the Fear

The last month started with an article to get past the fear of AI, titled, AI-Beyond the Fear. From there we explored usages of AI within our own homes as well as ethics in AI.

Ethical Projects Using AI

After discussing ways to remove the fear of AI, we delved into current projects. These projects covered our disappearing natural resources, including water. For a glimpse into the effort of human and AI collaboration, check out AI Research to Replace Finite Resources. For the more immediate need, fresh drinking water, check out AI To Help Drinking Water Issue.

Guiding AI Into The Future

Lastly we took a look at ways to guide AI development and implementations into the future. We began with Governance vs Architecture. To understand how and where to implement ethical AI, we reviewed the existing architecture through a three part article starting with AI Technical Flow Part 1. With a high level understanding of the AI technical architecture, I dove into a possible architecture of the future. This four part series started with AI Technical Foundation. This checkpoint ended with what I think may have the most important. Address the hidden layer to pull back the mysteries of the infamous black box. This was also the most difficult to write as it is very technical in nature. To review, check out the article titled, Mechanistic Interpretability and Sparse Autoencoders.

Summary

There’s so much more to write about. The topic of ethical AI along with AI and human interaction is almost endless. While the opportunities are endless, it will take a lot of work. The hardest work, however, doesn’t lay within the technology itself. The challenge with be humans and how we guide this development along with it’s implementation. It will be up to us to insure an ethical implementation of this amazing and powerful technology.

Keep coming back. We’ve only just begun!
